  • i love parades... my favorite are the ones my kids get to be in. Santa rosa parade back in the mid nineties, and now in the apple blossom parade, here in Sebastopol. My daughter is in the Analy band and all the cheers from the small two blocks of local folks is spine tingling. Small town parades... What fun!

  • I know what you mean. LaCanada has a fabulous Memorial Day parade that's exactly what you're talking about - Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops, all the preschools, high school band, kids riding on the fire trucks, etc. All float-related people, kids, friends, ride on the bare frame of the float. And, you know, we've lived in Sebastopol for 10 years now and I don't think we've ever gone to the Apple Blossom parade - we'll have to check it out!
